Having a successful online business requires two things…
- Targeted Traffic
- Converting That Traffic Into Sales
Most struggling marketers think lack of traffic is their problem.
It’s not, traffic is Easy!
Traffic isn’t the problem… The real problem is a lack of Conversions.
This may be do to a low converting capture page, an ineffective lead magnet, the wrong offer or a number of other issues.
In order to have a successful online business with consistent sales that grow from month to month, you have to have a marketing funnel in place that pays for itself.
Your goal is to be able to convert your traffic into sales and sign-ups at a high enough rate to earn back your advertising dollars while generating leads at the same time.
Say you pay $1000 dollars for traffic, generate 500 leads, convert 25 of those leads into a $50 sale and earn $1,250… then you have a profitable funnel and a free lead getting machine!
Now if you think you can’t afford to buy traffic, you’re probably right. You’ll lose your shirt unless you have an effective marketing funnel in place to take your traffic investment and turn it into sales and profit.
If you’re getting little or no traffic now and don’t have your conversion properly set up, consider yourself lucky! I’ve spent thousands of dollars on traffic using other marketers “turn key” funnels only to get a lot of leads that didn’t end up buying anything!
That’s what I see so many newbie marketers doing… they get sold of the promise of an “out of the box” system that’s going to do all of the heavy lifting (selling) for them. This may work for a limited few, but only in the beginning before the campaign gets saturated.
You need your own unique funnel set up the right way before you spend a dime or waste your precious time on traffic generation techniques.
When I first started online, I made the mistake of focusing on SEO and a blog as my primary method of traffic generation. This is completely bass-akwards because…
- Both a Blog and SEO are long-term strategies better used after you’re profitable.
- With SEO you don’t control your traffic (Google can make a change and you lose your traffic overnight!)
So I invested my time learning SEO strategies and writing blog posts and spent money on courses, software & back-links only to have my main lead source shut off by the big G.
Another valuable lesson I learned was… there is no such thing as free traffic! (Unless your time has no value.)
So focus on designing a high converting marketing funnel that converts traffic into sales and you’ll soon see that paying for traffic isn’t expensive, it’s easy!
Traffic is now an investment and you can scale it up!
